Akagera national park is habitat for the big 5 wildlife and other mammal species including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Hippos, Kobs, Zebras, Bushbucks, Waterbucks and most recently introduced Black Rhinos. After morning breakfast, you will head for a full game drive with packed lunch to catch up with late hunters and early risers. DAY 2: ARRIVAL AT KIGALI

On your arrival at Kigali Airport you will be met by your guide who will meet and greet you and then transfer you to your hotel, which will take 15 minutes. Dinner and overnight stay. Kigali Serena hotel (High end) Hotel des Mille Colline (Midrange), Dove hotel (Budget)

DAY 2: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK

Wake up and prepare for your morning breakfast, your driver guide will drive you to Akagera National park about 3 hours passing through the beautiful terraced landscape giving you a panoramic view. On arrival at the park, you proceed to your accommodation for check in and have lunch, there after enjoying 2hrs sunset boat trip on Lake Ihema where you have a glimpse of Hippos and crocodiles, buffalos and elephants by the shores and an array of birds including the rare and vulnerable shoebill, papyrus gonolek to mention but a few. Dine and slumber at: Ruzizi tented lodge (Luxury), Akagera game lodge (Midrange/Budget)

DAY 3: FULL GAME DRIVE/DEPARTURE

After morning breakfast, you will head for a full game drive with packed lunch to catch up with late hunters and early risers. Akagera is also known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa. You will start your game drive from Kirara route with packed lunch boxes provided. Akagera National Park is a habitat to large herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope. More than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome chestnut-coated impala, but also the diminutive oribi and secretive bushbuck, as well as the ungainly tsessebe and the world’s largest antelope, the statuesque, the Cape eland. Depending on the time of the game drive you will be able to view most of the game in different parts of the park. Return to Kigali and be dropped off at the airport for your outbound flight back home.
