Lake Mburo National Park
Uganda

Rwakobo Rock Lodge is a peaceful eco-retreat perched on a scenic outcrop just 1.5 kilometers from the Nshara Gate of Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda. Ideal for travelers seeking a blend of comfort and nature, the lodge offers panoramic views of the park’s savannah and is surrounded by wildlife such as zebras, impalas, bushbucks, and warthogs that often gather at the nearby waterhole.

The lodge features eight private thatched cottages and a newly built Hornbill House with five self-contained rooms, all equipped with solar-powered lighting, flush toilets, and hot showers. Each unit is designed to harmonize with the natural landscape, offering privacy and stunning sunset views from private verandas.

Guests can enjoy meals at the open-air restaurant, which overlooks the park and waterhole, creating a perfect setting for wildlife viewing during breakfast or dinner. The lodge also hosts nightly campfires (weather permitting), adding a cozy touch to the wilderness experience.

Activities include guided game drives, walking safaris, mountain biking, and boat trips on Lake Mburo. The surrounding Ankole ranchlands offer cultural encounters with Bahima pastoralists and sightings of the iconic Ankole cattle. The lodge’s location—just off the Mbarara-Masaka road and about 3.5 hours from Kampala—makes it easily accessible for both short getaways and longer safaris.

Rwakobo Rock Lodge is known for its eco-conscious design, warm hospitality, and tranquil atmosphere. Whether you’re a solo traveler, couple, or family, it provides a memorable base for exploring Lake Mburo’s rich biodiversity and enjoying Uganda’s natural beauty.
