Day to Day
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our company guide who will brief you about your 14 Days Ultimate Uganda and Rwanda Safari. He will transfer you from Entebbe International Airport to your selected accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park, which has a scenic drive en route to the park, including a lunch stop. A visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking is enriching. A two-hour drive takes you to the top of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the remarkable sight and sound of the Nile crashing through a narrow gorge—one of the world’s wonders. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Wake up for an early morning game drive on your third day, of your 14 Days Ultimate Uganda and Rwanda Safari, anticipating sightings of animals such as buffalo, elephants, lions, and several antelope species. Later, return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise up to the base of the falls, which brings you closer to hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of migratory birds along the banks of the Albert Nile. Return to the lodge in the evening for an overnight stay.
In the morning, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with a leisurely drive through the lush countryside, enjoying views of crop plantations and the Rift Valley escarpment. Overnight at the lodge.
As you enjoy your 14-Day Ultimate Uganda and Rwanda Safari, proceed to Kanyanchu for a briefing from the park warden as you prepare for chimpanzee tracking. Please note that this activity involves a moderate level of physical fitness, as you will be walking through the tropical rainforest.
Other primates in this tropical rainforest include the grey-cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest, red-tailed, and vervet monkeys. In the afternoon, a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, primarily for birdwatching, is worthwhile, especially seeing the beautiful blue turaco.
On this day, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel highlights the park. This cruise provides an excellent opportunity to see various wildlife, including migratory birds, Albertine endemic species, and mammals such as hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The 7th day of your 14-Day Ultimate Uganda and Rwanda Safari starts with a morning game drive in the northern sector (Kasenyi), where you may encounter big cats like leopards and lions. This area is also known for its large herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. Afterward, return to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, you can choose between a boat cruise, chimpanzee trekking in Karinju Forest, or exploring Kyambura Gorge.
After a relaxed breakfast, set off for game drives in the Ishasha sector in search of tree-climbing lions. Depending on the day’s weather, you may be fortunate enough to spot lions near the road or venture deep into the park to find them. Continue through the beautiful rolling hills of Kigezi to Bwindi National Park.
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters with a packed lunch for a briefing on the ‘dos and don’ts’ of gorilla trekking. This will include guidelines on maintaining a safe distance from the gorillas, avoiding direct eye contact, and refraining from eating or drinking in their presence. Then, proceed to track the gorillas. After your trek, you will be driven back to your lodge.
Transfer across the Chanika border to Volcanoes National Park as you continue to explore on . You will spend the night at Kinigi Guest House, a comfortable budget option with basic amenities; Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge, a mid-range option with more facilities; Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, a luxurious lodge with stunning views; or Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco Lodge, a high-end eco-friendly lodge with a focus on sustainability and comfort.
Start your day at 8:00 a.m. with a briefing at the park headquarters. Then, proceed to track golden monkeys or mountain gorillas. After your trek, you will transfer to Kigali overnight at your lodge.
In the morning, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival, take a game drive for wildlife viewing. In the afternoon, a rewarding boat cruise on Lake Akagera awaits you.
Prepare for an exhilarating full day of game drives in Akagera National Park. The northern sector is known for its significant concentrations of wildlife, including the Big Five mammals, making it a popular attraction for visitors eager to experience the thrill of a safari adventure.
In the morning, transfer back to Kigali and drop off at your hotel or the airport, depending on your flight schedule.
