Reasons Why You Should Visit Uganda to Go and see Gorillas

3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour
The only way to see them is to trek into their native forests.

Gorilla trekking offers a unique opportunity to observe the daily interactions of these gentle, mysterious primates. Mountain gorillas can only be found in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and along the dormant volcanic Virunga mountain range, which stretches across Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Being in the home range of half the world’s mountain gorillas.

Uganda has two gorilla trekking areas: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Because gorillas have no regard for political boundaries, populations in the Virungas are extremely fluid. Uganda, on the other hand, has an advantage because Bwindi alone is home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a 128-square-mile ancient montane and lowland woodland. The area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its significant biodiversity and the large number of endangered species that call it home.
