Explore three pristine wildlife areas in Tanzania, with a chance to witness the Great Migration. The sight of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras thundering across the plains is spectacular, and the Mara River crossing is one of the most breathtaking natural events in wildlife viewing. With dust exploding, lions stalking their prey, gigantic crocodiles, and fast-flowing wild rivers, this experience is sensational, impressive, and dramatic. This is one of the challenges of the Great Migration.

Learn from some of Tanzania’s most knowledgeable guides.

Search for the Big Five on daily game drives.

Experience the excitement of watching the wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River.

Relax on Zanzibar’s white sand beaches and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

Keep an eye out for the prolific birdlife of Tanzania.

After breakfast at your hotel, your tour will depart for Tarangire National Park. This park is famous for its massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Although relatively small, Tarangire is home to a significant wildlife population rivaling Ngorongoro. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch during your safari drive and have plenty of time to explore the national park, observe wildlife, and take photos. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your chosen lodge.

Day 2: Full Day in Tarangire National Park

This day will be spent entirely on game viewing, exploring the park’s vast habitats and landscapes up to the Silalei swamp. During the dry season, this area offers green pastures and water for grazers, attracting predators as well. From June to November, during the seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebras, the park comes alive with possibly the highest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti National Park, as well as the largest population of elephants per square kilometer in the world. Other possible sightings include lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, and buffaloes. If you’re lucky, you may also see the rare wild dogs. In the late afternoon, enjoy bush sundowner drinks prepared by your guide.
