This thrilling 4-day fly-in safari combines the iconic gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with the exciting game drives in the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ideal for wildlife enthusiasts and adventure seekers, this safari offers a unique opportunity to explore some of Uganda’s most stunning landscapes and diverse ecosystems.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Your adventure begins upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport. After clearing customs, you’ll be greeted by a guide facilitating your transfer to the domestic terminal for your flight to Bwindi. Soaring over lush hills and valleys, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Ugandan countryside. Upon landing at the Kisoro or Buhoma airstrip, a local guide will meet you for a scenic transfer to your lodge. Take time to relax and acclimate to the surroundings, perhaps by enjoying a leisurely nature walk nearby.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking protocols. Armed with packed lunches and a sense of adventure, you’ll embark on a guided trek into the dense jungle of Bwindi. The trek can be challenging, often leading through rugged terrain, but the rewards are immeasurable. Once you encounter a family of mountain gorillas, you’ll have an hour to observe, photograph, and connect with these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, you might consider visiting a nearby Batwa community to learn about their traditional way of life and connection to the forest. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and relax as you reflect on the day’s experiences.

Day 3: Search For Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha During Morning and Evening Game-Drives

It is now time for the second highlight of this gorilla trekking and tree-climbing lions safari, a day dedicated to searching for tree-climbing lions. The southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its tree-climbing lions. In the early morning, you head out onto the savannah to search the big fig trees for lions and hopefully see topis, elephants, and buffaloes. After the morning game drive, we head back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation; later in the afternoon, we return to the park to hopefully get some more good sightings.

Day 4: Fly-Out to Entebbe International Airport

After breakfast, depart Ishasha and drive to Kihihi Airstrip, approximately 45 min drive, for your scheduled flight to

Entebbe Airport.
