Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be warmly received by a professional guide from Gorilla Page Safaris. After a brief introduction and orientation of your 5-Day Rwanda–Uganda Gorillas, Golden Monkeys & Lake Bunyonyi Escape, set off for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, nestled in the foothills of the majestic Virunga Mountains. En route, you may opt to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre or local artisan markets (time permitting).
Settle into your lodge in Musanze/Ruhengeri and enjoy the cool mountain air as you prepare for the next day’s golden monkey trek.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable (Uganda)
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing and then begin your Golden Monkey tracking. These rare primates, found only in the Virunga range, are energetic, playful, and fascinating to observe in their bamboo habitat.
Later, return to the lodge, check out, and begin your cross-border journey into Uganda via the Cyanika border. Enjoy breathtaking views as you drive to the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing, then head into the ancient rainforest for your Gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you’ll hike through dense vegetation to locate a habituated gorilla family. Spend one magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—a truly unforgettable wildlife encounter.
In the afternoon, enjoy an enriching Batwa cultural experience. Visit a local Batwa community and learn about their traditions, music, and survival skills as original forest dwellers. Their vibrant storytelling and warm hospitality offer a touching perspective on life in the Bwindi region.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and Canoe Experience
After breakfast, transfer to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi, often referred to as “the Switzerland of Africa” for its terraced hills and calm waters dotted with 29 islands. Upon arrival, check into your lakeside lodge and enjoy a peaceful lunch as you enjoy your 5-Day Rwanda–Uganda Gorillas, Golden Monkeys & Lake Bunyonyi Escape.
In the afternoon, embark on a traditional canoeing experience, gliding across the serene lake to explore its islands, local legends, and birdlife. Optional activities include village walks or swimming in the safe, bilharzia-free waters.

Day 5: Return to Kigali via Cyanika Border & Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, you may opt for a brief city tour or enjoy lunch in Kigali before your drop-off at the airport for your onward flight.
